FAQs
Are smoked bones safe?
All dog chews come with risk, but that doesn’t mean you can't make smart choices for your furry friend! Smoked bones have been a long-time favourite around here, and with proper supervision, they can be a safe treat option. If your pup has a full set of adult teeth and knows how to enjoy them responsibly, you’re already on the right track.
Always choose a bone that’s large enough to eliminate the Irish of swallowing - no one wants to play an unintentional game of fetch with a choking hazard! Keep an eye out for any signs of breaking or splintering, and be ready to swoop in and remove the bone if it looks like pieces are starting to come off. Safety first, fun always! Happy chewing!
How do I store the bones?
Storing bones in the open air allows for natural drying, which can be beneficial for preserving them long-term. Just make sure they're away from pests and not exposed to moisture.
On the flip side, popping them in the freezer is a fantastic option if you're looking to store a bone for the future.
How long should let my dog have the bone?
We recommend “trading” with your dog after 10-15 minutes. This means swapping out toys or treats to keep the excitement alive! Plus, it’s a wonderful way to teach your dog about patience and waiting for their turn.
